Free PalmOne Tungstens and Zires Offered as Marketing Candy
A while back, Gratis Network made a big splash when they offered free iPods for participating in an online offer and then referring some friends to do the same.
Today we noticed that another seemingly unrelated group called Tactical Network (aka Tactical Gear, Inc.) has jumped into the fray and is advertising on Google Adwords, presumably offering free Palms. The website shows that you can get one of the following Palms: a Palm One Zire 72, a Palm One Tungsten T3, or a Palm Tungsten C communicator.
According to Burke Jones, Owner of Tactical Gear, "Once a user completes all the requirements their order is kicked up for an account review. We take fraud seriously so we do a thorough review of the account and referrals to insure no fraud was committed. This can take from 7-10 days. If the order is approved we will the place the order for shipment within another 7-10 days." See terms.
Burke's company has been in business since September, 2001 selling products such as flashlights, gun safes and lasers.
Asked whether or not the Free Palms offer is legitimate, Burke said, "We do have a record at the BBB, which is very good, and we would not want to lose that. We have thousands of satisfied customers around the globe from our outdoor product sites. The bottom line is that we will be shipping free Palms as soon as people have completed the requirements."
